Mayfield High School in Ohio had one of the fiercest defenses in the Buckeye state during the 2008 season.
The Wildcats went 29 consecutive quarters without surrendering a point.

The play of junior safety Matt Shannon was a big reason for that success.
Shannon, a 6-foot-1, 170-pounder, posted 68 tackles and deflected a dozen passes for the 10-2 Wildcats.
