With junior seasons now in the books and National Signing Day having passed for the class of 2014, now is the perfect time to take another look at Ohio's class of 2015 and readjust and expand our rankings. Our last update was 25 prospects long, but after going to dozens of games this fall and watching plenty of film, it's time to expand the rankings to 40.
This latest update sees a little bit of shake-up in the top five. While the same five prospects comprise the group, three of the five sit in different positions than at last update. We also see a prospect move from just outside the top 20 into the top 10 as well as plenty of reshuffling in the 6-10 spots.
The linebacker position is certainly the strength of this class with five of the top 17 prospects on this list as well as 10 of the top 40 overall, making it one of the strongest and deepest years at linebacker that Ohio has seen recently.
Running back is also strong at the top with three of the top 13 prospects (not including Jerome Baker who is considered a linebacker). Ohio is always known for producing offensive linemen and the 2015 group is a deep one with nine prospects in the top 40 and three in the top 15.
Along the defensive line, there are seven prospects in the top 40, though none are in the top 15 meaning it's a very good year in terms of quality depth but perhaps a little down when it comes to high end talent. The strength of the D-line group is definitely the interior with four true defensive tackle prospects and two defensive ends that could ultimately move inside.
We have given you the breakdown of the rankings, now it's time to take a look by clicking the FREE link below to reveal the Winter top 40 for Ohio's class of 2015.
