Tyler Foster commits to Ohio University

One of Ohio's top tight end prospects came off the board on Friday afternoon in Pickerington North standout Tyler Foster. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound prospect amassed more than a dozen offers during his recruiting process but decided to make a decision before his senior season kicks off in a few weeks.

The Ohio University Bobcats become the beneficiaries, keeping the talented Foster within the borders of Ohio.

"There were a lot of reasons I picked OU," Foster started. "There were some pros and cons but overall it felt like home and i love the coaching staff and the facilities. They also play great football and have a very bright future ahead of them and I wanted to be a big part of that."

Relationships are vital in recruiting and Foster built strong ones in Athens, even as interest started to pick up from Power Five programs.

"My area recruiting coach, Ron Collins, the linebackers coach and the tight ends coach, Brian Haines, were the two most actively involved in my recruiting," Foster said. "They both are great coaches and I have very good relationships with both of them."

The Bobcats have had a history of being able to pull a couple of prospects each year that seem to be more than capable of playing at the Power Five level. They may have done that again here with Foster who had a tremendous summer camp and 7-on-7 circuit.
