The talent has just been pouring out of the Columbus (Ohio) suburb of Pickerington over the past decade and it doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon. The class of 2021 has numerous prospects in the area who will be Power Five recruits, including Pickerington Central wide receiver Lorenzo Styles Jr.

Styles picked up an early offer from Boston College this spring and then nabbed his second of the process over the weekend with Notre Dame coming through after a strong camp performance.

"I went to the Notre Dame camp on Saturday and we did some testing and drills," Styles recalled. "I felt like I had some pretty good results and I guess they did as well since they offered me. I did well in the 1-on-1's and I was just talking to the coaches and they were giving me tips on my game and they told me that I have great potential."

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect was excited to receive the news of the offer from the Notre Dame staff.

"This offer means a lot to me," Styles continued. "Notre Dame is a great football school, but it's a really good academic school as well. It just shows me that I'm doing my part both on the football field as well as the classroom."

While he wasn't able to see much of the campus or facilities, that will be taken care of at a later date as he expects to head back to South Bend in the fall.

"I plan on doing a visit at another time," he said. "I plan on going back up there when they play Michigan."

Styles Jr. is the son of former Ohio State standout linebacker Lorenzo Styles. Ohio State coaches stopped by Pickerington Central during the spring. Styles has also received information on this week's Friday Night Lights camp but isn't sure if he'll be able to make it.

"I got all of the information for the camp," Styles explained. "But I have to talk to my parents about it and see if I can attend or not. I know Ohio State sent coaches to my school during the spring."

Several other Big Ten programs are also showing early interest in Styles who was a rare freshman contributor at Central last fall during the Tigers' state championship run.

"I'm fortunate enough to go to Pickerington Central so a lot of schools have come in," he explained. "I've been able to start developing a relationship with schools like Penn State, Michigan State, and Michigan. I'm really fortunate to go to such a great school where I can develop relationships with (college) coaches."

With some big losses to graduation at Central, Styles looks to be a bigger part of the offense as a sophomore.

"I feel like I'm very fast but I want to work on my route running for this year," he continued. "I had a bunch of 10-12 yard plays last year and I want to turn those into more explosive plays."
