Record breaking back holds early offer

After rushing for more than 4,000 yards as a junior, Canal Winchester (Ohio) Harvest Prep running back Daniel Bangura is starting to see recruiting interest pick-up. With approximately 6,000 yards over the past two seasons, Bangura has been Ohio's most productive back. But 4,000 yards in one season is a special year, as he broke the state single-season rushing record.

"I didn't think it was possible," said Bangura. "My goal was to get to 2,000 yards because last year I got to 1,800. I worked for it so anything is possible when you work hard every day."

How does one accomplish such a feat?

"It's a combination of all things," he said. "My line, coaching, obviously you have to have some type of speed and vision. You have to know the game well and know the playbook well and you have to have a good feel for the position."

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound speedster gave the latest happenings at the Best of the Midwest camp in Indianapolis last week.

"Right now my only offer is Kent State," Bangura explained. "I also have an offer from Limestone College in South Carolina, it's a Division II school. I have a few schools looking at me. I have Bowling Green, Duke, Wisconsin, and Michigan State."

Bangura should continue to see recruiting interest rise as he makes his way around the college camp circuit this summer.
