Pickerington Central rallies late to beat Elder for Division I Championship

CANTON, Ohio -- The Pickerington Central Tigers are state champions for the second time in three seasons. Trailing 14-7 heading into the fourth quarter on Friday night, the Tigers rallied for a pair of touchdowns to overtake Cincinnati Elder in the Division I championship game.

After tying the game early in the fourth quarter on a Demeatric Crenshaw six-yard pass to sophomore Tyler Gillison. Central's defense would come up with a big stop to put the ball back in Crenshaw's hands.

The senior quarterback delivered again, hitting junior receiver Lorenzo Styles Jr. in stride over the middle. Styles Jr.'s big-time track speed took over from there and he outraced the Elder secondary to the end zone to give the Tigers their first lead of the game and a lead they would not relinquish.
