Fuller enjoying success

Ashland (Ohio) quarterback Marcus Fuller has been enjoying success at the varsity level since his freshman year, so it comes as little surprise that the 6-foot, 200-pounder is turning in a big senior year.
Fuller has been stellar through six games, leading Ashland to a 5-1 record and probable playoff berth in Division II. He currently has 1848 passing yards and 21 touchdowns and five rushing scores.

To put it in reference, he's well ahead of his pace from a season ago when he finished with an impressive 3122 passing yards and 30 touchdowns.
"So far so good," said Fuller when asked about the season to-date. "We had a tough loss to Marion-Franklin but you learn from it."
The Arrows have bounced back from the week three loss in a big way, putting up 53, 51 and 49 points ever since. In a 49-20 win over Mansfield last week, Fuller completed 20-of-22 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for four touchdowns.
"The offense is playing well right now," Fuller admitted. "We're starting to click at the right time."
Fuller credits an expanded playbook and more seasoning in the spread offense as some of reasons why Ashland continues to light up the scoreboard.
"I'm pleased with how I've been doing because our offense is more advanced than it was at this time last year," he explained.
The Arrows have a big week seven matchup with Orrville, one of the top teams in Division IV. With both teams at 5-1, plenty of playoff points will be at stake. Fuller knows first-hand how difficult the contest should be. Ashland eeked out a 14-13 victory a year ago.
"It's a big game at home," said Fuller. "It's been a tough series against them and they're pretty good."
Recruiting wise, Fuller has two offers under his belt from Brown and Colgate. He's also still hearing from a plethora of schools, particularly in the Ivy League.
Regardless of whether or not anyone else offers, Fuller is content on where he sits.
"I've got two offers from two schools I'm really happy with," he explained.
"They are two different offenses but I like both. Brown likes to open it up a little more and Colgate isn't as pass-happy. But I know at Colgate the quarterback is in control."
Regardless of how recruiting plays out, Fuller has only one goal and that's to advance deep into the playoffs. Ashland dropped a 45-42 heartbreaker last year against Lake Catholic in the Region 5 Final. If the offense, with Fuller at the helm, continues to click the Arrows should be right there again come November.
