One of Ohio's top uncommitted prospects is Pickerington North wide receiver Chris Scott. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound prospect holds several major offers and could be on the verge of more in the coming weeks.

"I've been staying in touch with the schools that have offered, so I'm talking with Cincinnati, Kentucky, Michigan, and a few others," Scott explained. "There's a few other schools that haven't offered but they are like right on the line. Michigan State is one school for sure, they want to see me on defense as well. West Virginia is another school that kind of came in late and I think they want to see some film of me on defense. Wisconsin just came on recently, a few days ago."

On Cincinnati: "Coach Fickell is doing an amazing job. That's been my only official visit so far so I had a chance to talk to coach Fickell and his whole staff and just see everything. What he's doing is phenomenal. He got a commitment from Jaheim Thomas who is a big-time guy staying in-state. That's important to me too, seeing guys like Jaheim going there and seeing guys like Darrion Henry and Paris Johnson taking a visit there, that says a lot."

On Kentucky: "The offer there is for offense. I got to go down there for their spring game and see the campus and talk more in-depth with their coaches. I talked to some of the players that I know down there just to get a more in-depth look at Kentucky. It was by far one of the best visits that I've had. Now it's just a matter of getting back there for a weekend, for a game, and maybe use one of my officials there."

On Michigan: "That's another offer that was for offense. It was kind of funny because coach Al Washington offered me and now he's at Ohio State. They kind revamped their whole staff and that kind of switched up things with my recruiting but I've kept in contact with coach Roundtree and I'm trying to get back up there as soon as possible for a game."

Scott could see an uptick coming soon as he plans to show more versatility this fall by playing defense. At his size and with his athleticism, it could be intriguing for college coaches.

"I think the first few games this season will be a huge factor, especially with me playing both ways this year," he explained. "I'm starting both ways this year so I'll have a lot more film at defensive back so schools will be able to see me play both ways, see my versatility, and see which side of the ball they might want me on."

A decision time frame is up in the air and will likely be dictated by how much new interest or new offers come through the first month or so of the season.

"Maybe midway through the season," Scott stated on when he would like to decide. "I want to give those first few games a chance, see what schools are saying and what they think."

Scott is expected to be at Cincinnati's opener on Thursday night.
