Bristol makes his pledge

The Ohio Bobcats have had a nice run of commitments in recent weeks and that trend continued this week with the verbal pledge of Groveport (Ohio) Madison offensive lineman Durrell Bristol. The 6-foot-3, 325-pound road grater called up the OU staff on Monday evening to offer up his commitment.
"I committed to OU!" Bristol stated in a text message to OhioPreps.com on Monday evening. "I called (the coaching staff) and told them that I wanted to be a Bobcat. I spoke with coach Collins and coach Lightner and they were both very excited about my decision."
Bristol chose the Bobcats over offers from Ball State, Bowling Green, and Western Michigan. He was also receiving interest from schools from the Ivy League, Big East, Big Ten, as well as several other Mid-American Conference programs. In the end, Bristol felt like Ohio was the total package in terms of what he was looking for in a program.
"They have a great education," he explained. "They have a beautiful campus and they are known for playing good football and producing good linemen."
Bristol had steadily seen his stock rise during the off-season but chose to get things over with before his senior season, as opposed to playing the waiting game.
"I felt that OU was the perfect fit for me and that I could not let a great opportunity pass me by," he said."
Bristol joins an Ohio U. class that looks to be very strong along the offensive line with the recent additions of tackle Tate Leavitt and guard Zachary Murdock.
