Anderson a major sleeper

There are still plenty of talented unoffered prospects in Ohio's 2018 class that should emerge in the coming months as the Spring Evaluation Period opens up followed by college camps in June. One of Ohio's best kept secrets right now is Hilliard Bradley wide receiver Daevon Anderson.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound prospect hauled in 77 receptions for 1,070 yards and 15 touchdowns last season and was named a first team all-state selection.

"My junior year went pretty well," said Anderson. "I had 15 touchdowns and broke our school record. I also broke the school record for yards."

Yet Anderson is still waiting for his first scholarship offer, though things have picked up recently with a half dozen schools showing interest.

"I'm hearing from a few schools," he said. "Louisville, Michigan State, Eastern Michigan, Youngstown State, Cincinnati and that's about it right now."

Most schools want to Anderson at camp over the summer. A big-time track athlete, Anderson has the speed to take the top off of defenses and is working hard this spring to become a more refined player when college camps roll around.

"I'm really fast and I'm just working on my breaks and stuff right now," he said.

Anderson is hoping to take a couple of unofficial visits this month.

"I'm going to Eastern Michigan on April 8th," he said. "Louisville wants me to come down to their spring game."

Anderson was a regional qualifier in both the hurdles and long jump as a sophomore.
