Ball's recruitment is taking off

Already known as one of Ohio's top wide receivers, Elijah Ball may be getting a lot more recognition coming his way soon. The class of 2015 product out of Cincinnati (Ohio) Princeton high school earned accolades for his performance at the Rivals Camp Series event last week in Columbus (Ohio) impressing with a great pair of hands and the ability to get open downfield.

The 6-foot-1, 178-pound wide out already holds offers from Cincinnati, Kent State, Ohio University, Western Michigan, Akron, and Eastern Michigan, and several other programs have begun to take notice of him.

"I've been receiving a lot of interest from Northwestern, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan State, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Minnesota lately," Ball said. "I'll also be calling the UConn staff soon, they came by a couple days ago."

With all of the new interest coming his way over the past few months, Ball is hoping to capitalize on the attention and earn more offers from schools across the region and throughout the country through more workouts and camp performances. Which schools and camps might these be?

"West Virginia is coming to watch me work out on Friday, May 9th and Vanderbilt, Kentucky, and Minnesota said they're going to come watch me work out as well, I'm just not sure when," Ball explained. "I'll be at the Nike Football Training Camp at Ohio State on June 1st and I hope to get to the Sound Mind Sound Body camp up in Detroit and there will be a few teams there."

While Ball has already made visits to Toledo, Kent State, Ohio University, Northwestern, Eastern Michigan, and Cincinnati, he hopes to get a chance to explore more colleges before progressing towards his decision. Ball named the atmosphere of the campuses as one of his most important factors for choosing his future home.

There are some schools that already stand out for the wide receiver from Cincinnati. Ball named the hometown Bearcats and Ohio University as his two favorites that have already offered him. Additionally, he named ACC schools like Maryland, North Carolina, Clemson, and the Miami Hurricanes as schools he wants to hear a lot more from, joining Big Ten program Northwestern.

"I love Chicago, it's a great city and a great town, and I really like Northwestern. I also really enjoy the [ACC], even watching that conference on TV. I love the campuses on the eastern coast. Playing in the ACC would be a very big deal for me, it would be my dream conference to play in."

Ball originally had designs on committing before the beginning of his senior season of football, but he has now decided that he won't establish a timeline. The 2015 prospect plans on exploring more of his options before making a final decision as to where he'll spend the next four years of his life.

"I'm not in a rush right now to narrow down my choices," said Ball. "I'm looking forward to making more visits to different schools and getting different offers. It could be January when I choose, it could be September, or anywhere in between."
