Central survives OT scare against Scioto

Follow Givler |

DUBLIN, Ohio - The defending state champion Pickerington Central basketball team survived a scare on Wednesday night to advance in the Ohio basketball playoffs. The Tigers blew a nine-point fourth quarter lead on the road against Dublin Scioto but rallied in overtime to pull out the 59-57 victory and keep hopes of a title defense alive.

Some big plays down the stretch by Ohio State commit Jae'Sean Tate who finished with 28 points, as well as some clutch free throw shooting from junior guard Connor Kern were the difference as the Tigers will now face a fellow perennial Central Ohio power in Dublin Coffman next Wednesday at Pickerington North high school.
